What's New This Autumn?
Six months ago, Remembering in Paint opened its doors for the very first time. Since then, over 1,100 artists have joined, and I am very proud to announce that in a recent member survey 88% rated the course Great or above, and 99% rated it Good or above!
I’ve loved watching the work that’s come out of it, and I’ve been listening closely too. The members' questions and feedback have shaped everything I’ve added since, so I’m really excited to share what’s new and welcome a fresh group of artists this autumn.
This is not just a painting course - it’s a way of seeing, remembering and reconnecting with the landscape as a catalyst for your own artistic voice.
Will you join us? I hope to see you in there.

Brand New Q&A Library
All of the members' questions on topics like colour, composition and scaling up, with my answers, gathered in one place. All fully searchable and continually added to.

You Want to Paint More Freely
...but freedom without direction can leave you feeling uncertain, hesitant, or stuck between realism and abstraction.
Sometimes you feel…
Unsure how to move beyond what you see.
Caught between realism and abstraction.
Full of ideas, yet lacking a clear process.
Ready to be bolder - but held back.
You don’t just want to “be more expressive.”
You want a framework that gives you confidence.
What If Structure Could Unlock Freedom?
A clear, repeatable process that allows you to paint with greater boldness, clarity and emotional depth.
What if having a clear process allowed you to paint more freely than ever before?
Remembering in Paint is the method David has developed in his studio over many years - refined through his sell-out in-person courses.
Many people come to this course feeling stuck, overworking their paintings, or unsure how to move forward.
Others simply want to loosen up, feel more freedom in their work, and reconnect with why they started painting in the first place.
This course is designed to meet you exactly where you are.
